ABOUT HERKIMER DIAMONDS
Herkimer diamonds are actually double order point quartz crystals of exceptional clarity. They were named ‘diamonds' because if their natural faceting, six on each point and six in the center. Occasionally there are inclusions of solids or liquids within the Herkimer which provides geologists with clues as to how they were formed beginning 500 million years ago in a shallow sea.

Native Americans long treasured Herkimer Diamonds, but their popularity exploded when workmen in the late 18th century were clearing an outcropping of dolostone in Herkimer County, New York, and discovered the mineral was generously pocked with this impressive crystal hidden within vugs.

Herkimer Diamonds may be the most powerful of all quartz. Double termination allows for this stellar crystal to receive and transmit energy with intense focus. Herkimers have a high frequency and are a versatile and powerful tool for teachers of spirituality and alternative therapies.

ABOUT TANZANITE
Tanzanite is a relatively new stone, first identified in 1967 in Northern Tanzania. The mineral was initially named by Tiffany and Co. after Tanzania, the country in which it was discovered. In 2002 the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA ) added Tanzanite as a December birthstone, their first change to the list since 1912.

The scientific name for tanzanite is blue zoisite. Mineral zoisite is a calcium aluminum hydroxyl Sorosilicate. But perhaps the most interesting thing about Tanzanite is that it is trichroic - meaning that it shows three colors concurrently - brown, blue and violet.

Tanzanite is a valued crystal for it's metaphysical properties. It aids in spiritual exploration and joins together all aspects of communication and psychic power. Tanzanite is a supportive partner in meditation and learning to live from a compassionate heart and an enlightened mind. The Throat, Third Eye and Crown Chakras are stimulated by Tanzanite.

Enjoy this lovely specimen as a decorative addition to your life and as a healing stone attuned to your personal energies.
