Small French 800 solid silver & vermeil small hors d'oeuvres servers with openwork engraved decoration.
Small French .800 solid silver & vermeil small hors d'oeuvres servers with openwork, engraved decoration and ornate dragon motifs. Comprising of a fork and a flat server. In good condition with surface scratches and age tarnish commensurate with age and use. A slight wear or fading possible to the gilt vermeil. No dents, splits or repairs to note. No monograms.
Both bear the tiny French wild boar's head hallmark for silver fineness of 800/1000, introduced for small silver articles. Maker's marks are for Parisian silversmith René Morel, active from 1886 at 1 bis boulevard Magenta.
The fork is 4 13/16 inches (12,2 cm) long order and 1 inch (2,6 cm) wide at its widest point.
The server is 4 7/8 inches (12,4 cm) long and 1 9/16 inches (4 cm) wide at its widest point.
