ABOUT THIS PRINT
This is another one of those mysterious images that come to my mind out of nowhere when I sit quietly, without thoughts.
The text on the picture says:
"... and on the first night she came in,
and sat in front of him,
and made him tea,
and started telling him a story.
And the story went like this..."
ABOUT THE PROCESS
Etching order is an intaglio printmaking technique, and it is a complex process requiring many specific art materials and a well-equipped printmaking studio.
I use copper plates for my intaglio prints and print them on an old-fashioned Rochat etching press. The entire process is hand-made, and for that reason, the images in an edition slightly vary from one another.
I use Hahnemuhle printing paper for my intaglio prints and Fabriano papers for screenprints, monotypes and linocuts.
WHO WE ARE
I am Marina Kim, a professional artist painter-printmaker. I grew up in Uzbekistan, the former USSR, and graduated from the Republican Art College in Tashkent. Since 2000 I have lived in the UK. As well as in my gallery, I exhibit works in many prestigious UK and international art events.
I create fine art works in many painting and graphic mediums. Take a look around my Etsy shop, and you'll find oil and acrylic paintings, drawings, etchings, drypoints, mezzotint prints, screenprints etc - https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/marinakimart
I am an acclaimed portrait painter and take commissions for portraits painted from life sittings and photographs.
My husband Tim Roche and I own an art gallery in the pretty little town of Rye on the South East coast of England. We have been in business since 2002, selling fine art and providing framing services.
Much of my art is about living in a small town, raising a family and being part of the community.
