Quite an amazing situation here! I was very fortunate and found a very very large group of textiles made of this amazing , red ground, Indienne fabric. ( to see the other matching panels, simply search my store for the words " Red Indienne Mulhouse " and they will all appear! It the time of listing I have enough for very large projects, so rare! ~ ) This fabric is French and it dates right around 1880, I believe printed in Mulhouse. This fabric has the most spectacular Indienne pattern which was inspired by the hand painted Indian Palampore textiles of the 18th century. This fabric is sturdy, heavy weight, very robust! It is a linen and cotton blend ( higher cotton than linen). The ground tone is a wonderful, earthy red and the other colors include : sage greens, pale pinky peach, pale blue , mauve and purple. In my 25 years of sourcing, I have found it 2 other times in two other colorways!~ Both selvages are present on this fabric. This fabric is roller printed ~
It is ideal for upholstery, pillows, curtains and many, many other projects.
MEASUREMENTS: I'm selling this panel by the half , so each purchase is for a length that measures approximately 32 inches wide and the length is 42 inches long . Should you wish to purchase the full long length, simply change the quantity button to 2 and you will receive one long length that measures 32 inches wide by 87 inches long! ~*~
CONDITION : I have left this fabric in unwashed condition for collectors ( please see my other listings for the washed panels) It's important to some collectors that the fabric is in original as found condition, so I'm leaving this fabric this way. However, if you're planning to use for upholstery, pillows etc , it does need to order be washed. It can be machine washed with normal detergent and hung to dry. This panel has some visible storage dust, ( I shook them out, but again, if you are planning to use rather than collect, it needs to be machine washed ) . Light signs of time and use ~ just wonderful! ~*~
