This beautifully hand-carved wooden perfume bottle was made by John A. Oya & Co., probably in the late 1930s or early 1940s. It was carved from Monkey-pod wood, and is in excellent shape. These lovely souvenirs of Hawaii were frequently brought to the states (since this was before Hawaii became a U.S. state) by servicemen stationed on the islands.
The bottle holder is in excellent shape, and still contains its original bottle with original labels in very good shape - "Tropic Moonlight, Remembrance of Ginger" was the perfume. The bottle is empty, but a light fragrance still lingers.
