Don't let our low prices fool you. After 45 years of enjoyable collecting, we now have a vast inventory. Because of that, we are thrilled that we can offer items at lower prices than most shops.
This listing is for a hand painted Ewer / Pitcher / order Jug made by Royal Worcester, England. It is a Blush Ivory piece. It is marked. Marks date it to 1887.
This gem has some extra features that some do not. There is gold trim around the spout. The floral painting goes all around this ewer. There is also a flower painted on the neck of the spout.
There is the capital letter Y under the circle. Capital letters were used as date marks starting in 1867. Lower case letters were used for only one year, in 1890. Starting in 1891 Royal Worcester stopped using a date code. Also starting in 1891 the company began to add the words - Royal Worcester England around the outside of the circle.
The pattern was registered in 1885.
Blush Ivory pieces are my favorite. They have a gloss ivory glaze on the inside and a straw colored matt finish on the outside. Sometimes to add to the piece, the artist would spray an apricot color to the gold to make it look aged.
Look at my close-up photos. Photos are lousy. What I was attempting to show is that every petal, leave and stem has a gold outline.
Blush Ivory is not porcelain but it is Parian Clay.
Measures 5 3/8" tall, 4 1/2" wide including the handle.
It is in excellent condition. Any white in the photos is from my camera flash. As with all antique items, you will see signs of use. Very very minor amount of wear to the gold trim. Please examine the photos very carefully to add to my description. Ask all needed questions before purchase.
Email any shipping questions. Our shop does offer Layaway. New items are listed weekly. ENJOY!!
