Queen Anne's lace, Hypericum, Cow Parsley. Plaster Cast Wall Art order Tile, botanical bas relief, flower art, gardeners gift, wedding gifts
Queen Anne's Lace Hypericum & Cow Parsley seed heads were used to create this beautiful.
Queen Anne's Lace, Hypericum & Cow Parsley seed heads were used to create this beautiful plaster cast plaque. I grew the Queen Anne's Lace specifically to cast as they are so beautiful. The head curls up as the seeds develop & create a haven for tiny insects. I have to shake them before casting to remove them. It would make a treasured gift for anyone who loves plants, flowers & nature, .
The life of flowers and plants is very short lived, the process of casting them is like capturing a moment in time, preserving them to be enjoyed long after they have faded away. The casting process gives them a beautiful sculptural quality & transforms the items into a work of art. I am happy to take on individual commissions, maybe you have some favourite flowers you would like to be preserved, or a wedding bouquet.
This plaque was made by pressing the plants into clay. They were then removed & plaster poured over to create the cast. When the plaster is dry the clay is peeled away to reveal the raised impression. Two keyhole brackets are set into into the back to allow the plaque to be hung on a wall with 2 screws, or it can simply be propped up on a shelf. The plaster used is very hard when set, but the tiles are only suitable for indoor use & you should avoid rooms with lots of condensation & moisture. The plaques are signed on the back & are made to order, therefore I do not accept returns if you change your mind.
The plaque measures 40 x 14.5 x 1.5cm
All the plaques I make are available in the natural colour of the plaster - white, or with colour added – Dark Blue, Olive Green, Rust Red or Brown. Please contact me to ask about a coloured version.
Before packing each plaster plaque is checked thoroughly & carefully wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap, then packed in a sturdy cardboard box.
I also run plaster casting workshops in the North East of England UK order
