This is a piece of photographic and American cultural history. The Kodak Brownie, originally selling for only $1 when it came out in the 1880s, revolutionized photography and began making it accessible. This No. 2 came out in 1901, with advancements the first to use No. 120 Kodak film. It was an even bigger success and photography then began to be available to many more American households. The Brownie made casual, "snapshot" photos of everyday life possible. In the next decade, when American soldiers went to war in WWI, many carried these affordable, light, highly portable, and yes, "No. 2 Brownie" cameras with them into the battlefield and across Europe. Really amazing piece of turn-of-the century innovation and photographic history. Enjoy!
