Additional Information:

Cabochons in the gem world are stones that are polished and cut into rounded or convex tops with a flat base. Cabochons are cut into many different shapes and varying sizes, oval being the most common by far. Cabachons are generally shaped and polished as such for opaque gemstones, to bring out the colors and dimensions, and made to be set into jewelry. Any of the cabochons carried here would make lovely pendants.

Turquoise is widely recognized for its blue coloration. It was used by ancient Egyptians (among many other cultures) as a decorative stone and a gemstone for jewelry, an example being King Tutankhamun's burial tomb was inlaid with Turquoise. Egyptians believed that the blue hues were a symbol for regeneration, so it was prized not only as a decorative stone, but also as a superstitious stone. Care instructions for the stone include avoiding water in order to prolong the integrity of its sky-blue color.
