Product code: Silk brocade order fukusa gift cover, fan with dancing crane, Takeuchi Seiho, Japan
Almost square silk fukusa or gift cover with a jacquard weave design in black, white, red and silver-gray silk threads on a ground of gold order brocade weave. The design shows an open fan, depicting a dancing crane and short text with seal. The text indicates that the design is after a fan painting by Takeuchi Seiho (1864 -1942) and carries Seiho's red seal from the 1940s.
The reverse of the fukusa is decorated in brocade weave with a design of hexagons in red on white. The hexagon represents the turtle. Together with the crane they stand for longevity.
A brown silk tassel attached to each corner.
