I believe this is a true U.S. 1st Edition / 1st Printing. I'll list out the points I matched to determine this, but please verify this for yourself using the photos.

* The copyright page has the number line "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 9/9 0/0 1 2 3 4".
* The next line reads "Printed in the U.S.A. 37".
* And the bottom line is "First American edition, June 1999".

* The covers are blue with an embossed diamond pattern, and the spine is green.
* The front flap of the dust jacket has the price $17.95.
* The back of the dust jacket has a diagonal bar code, and the smaller of the two codes is labeled "51795".
* The sliver lettering is raised on both the front and spine of the dust jacket.

* I believe this is additionally the earliest state dust jacket and binding, as both are missing the Year 2 badge that was added to later states.

Condition:

There is light wear and rubbing to the edges and corners of the dust jacket, and there are a few light bends on the front jacket flap. The covers also have a little wear and rubbing, mostly to the edges and corners. There is a name and address handwritten inside the front cover and on the front endpaper. There are a few marks on the outer page edges, and a few pages have a small indent on them, almost like there was a paperclip on them at one time. The pages are in very good condition, and the book is complete and securely held together.
