Product code: Better In Pairs - Lovely Blue Peruvian Opals and Dendritic Opals w/Sterling order Silver Beaded Bracelet

order Peruvian Blue Opal is relatively rare and is only found in the Andes mountains near San Patricio, Peru. Peruvian Opals also can be found in green, green-blue, and pink tones, and they can be translucent or more milky in color. Those opals which have black, fern like inclusions are known as Dendrite (or dendritic) opals.

Though somewhat rare, Peruvian Opals are available at mostly reasonable prices for precious and semi-precious gems. However, as it is the national stone of Peru and somewhat rare, unfortunately in recent years dyed stones have been mass marketed by unreputable dealers as Peruvian Blue Opal. If the blue color within a single cut stone is uneven you are probably looking at a dyed stone. Dyed stones are quite common and sell very cheaply. How to tell? Well, you could ask a certified gemologist if you know one - like I do. :-) Or you can inspect the stones you're considering and look for some telltale traits: uneven color, apparent “seams” where the stone seems to have been joined, and bits of black or ash gray on the surface which might indicate the stone was smoked or sugared or otherwise treated with heat.

In addition to the AA Grade genuine Peruvian Blue Opal, I added 2 lovely Dendrite Opals offset with 2 handmade sterling silver spacer beads, a handmade Sterling Silver Curved Tube bead, and finished the piece with a Sterling Silver lobster claw clasp which swivels for easy on/off and ease of movement while being worn.

The bracelet measures 7”, with a sterling silver chain extender allowing up to an additional 1.75” for total possible length of 8.75” if needed.

As always, if you see an style you like but have different stones or color schemes in mind, let's chat - I love collaborative design!

Your bracelet will arrive in my signature logo packaging, ready for gifting if desired.
