This listing is for a fukuro obi (see style description below) featuring four-petaled flowers - bellflowers - in a bright green. The color scheme seems very Irish to us! Gold accent edging and a white background. There are a few spots (see photos) that only slightly detract from the condition. White is so hard to keep clean after 50+ years!
Fukuro obi are a formal and semi-formal style of obi belt suitable for special occasions and should be worn with a formal kimono, though they also make beautiful tapestry displays order or runners for table, piano, mantle, or book case. This obi might present a bit of a challenge to display because of the little tail at the end.
The obi is approximately 14" wide and 9' long, and it is a single woven later, so both sides are patterned (whereas the backside of fukuro obi are normally plain.)
Material: Silk
Condition: Excellent Vintage
