A pretty pair of well-loved, women's Brunswick bowling shoes here in a super unique mid century style and finish! If Mrs. Maisel was a regular bowler, we're pretty certain these would have made the cut in her rotation of bowling kits for the ultimate bowling karma. These ultra cool vintage shoes are composed of a beautiful, plush, basket weave fabric, trimmed with patchwork leather in a delightful shade of camel brown, gold eyelets, laces that match the leather trim, and a double row of snazzy brown stitching around the forefoot and toes.

LOVE the stylish shape of these shoes - especially the toes - that manages to evoke both retro and modern-day styling at the same time! (Reminds me a bit of the current Allbirds' boat shoe, and so I have to wonder if they could have taken some of their styling tips from retro shoes like these. If so, "The wheel of fashion has come full circle...")

Originally designed to be bowling shoes with their rubber soles, you could certainly plan to use them for that again, or just to wear around town to show off your mad vintage accessorizing skills! Notice the navy and gold Brunswick tag logo and label still attached inside the soles of each shoe, and inset into the bottom of each of the rubber heels? These "Made in the U.S.A." shoes are the real deal in vintage bowling royalty, no doubt, and still have a lot of life in them.

We can't read any of the original sizing on the inside of the shoe, so since we're not sure of the size, and even if we were, vintage sizing can be "off" sometimes, please use the ACTUAL measurements of the shoes below and measure your foot to be sure they will meet your needs. We really want them to go to the perfect tootsies for maximum tiptoeing-through-the-tulips' pleasure!

INSIDE: Shoes measure approx. 9-1/4" when measured on the inside of the shoe
OUTSIDE: Shoes measure approx. 10-1/4" long, by 3-1/2" wide at the widest point when measured on the bottom, outside of the shoe

Good news: there are NO stitches missing throughout both shoes. That's saying something as these quality shoes are detailed in multiple lines of stitching - so retro and so stylish! The cloth and leather exterior both look quite clean and new with just a few light stains visible near the back heel of one shoe and the edge of one tongue that you have to look hard to even notice. Even the sides of the heels look pretty white still, with some scuffing, but nothing too bad - just normal expected wear from use.

The inside is quite a bit more worn than the outside. The inner sole lining is dingy but still padded pretty well, and the canvas-like interior shows light staining and darkening with age. LOVE that Brunswick thought to include elastic straps under the tongues to make these shoes easy to slip on and off without necessarily even having to tie or untie the laces each time! There is a reinforced heel cup toward the back of each shoe that is quite worn through use/age, and has begun to crack and peel close to the sole area. You may wish to add your own thin pad as a cushion for comfort, or wear a nice soft sock with them as this heel cup is likely to continue to deteriorate and may cause irritation otherwise.

Notice the sweet gold eyelets on the inner arch that complement the eyelets used in the lacing area? Such special stylish details - pretty much impossible to find in today's mass manufacturing environment.

Snag these shoes and watch your bowling skills skyrocket -- OR -- your errands practically do themselves (well, maybe -- no promises, but it couldn't hurt!)!!

Please be sure to measure your feet and ask us any questions you may have prior to purchase as we want you to be thrilled with your finds from DollFood! Also, click on each photo and zoom in to enlarge for detail to be sure these super shoes will meet your needs. Rock on!!
