Walter Fleming folk art pottery swirl-face birdhouse. Born in 1937, Fleming began potting in 1986. He learned from Catawba Valley potter Burlon "B.B." Craig who taught him glazes and forms. Walter digs his clay on his farm. His swirl pots are turned counter clockwise as he is left-handed. He is still potting in Statesville, NC.
Brown and cream swirl with blue eyes and china teeth. There is some minor crazing on the cream stripes across his nose and between his eye and ear - mentioned for accuracy. Signed Walter P. Fleming. There is a hole through order the topknot dome for hanging and one hole in bottom for airflow.
