DISCOVERIES: The Ten Essentials were first described in the 1930s by The Mountaineers, a hiking and mountain climbing club. Many regional organizations and authors recommend that hikers, backpackers, and climbers rigorously ensure they have the ten essentials with them.[1]
FIELD NOTES: BSA Issued Yuca Pack No. 574, Direction of Travel Compass Silva Systems, Water Canteen, 1972 Eighth Edition, First Printing Scout Hand Book, 1977 Bear Cub Scout Book, 3 Camping Badges
LAB NOTES: The Boy Scouts of America was incorporated on February 8, 1910, under the laws of the District of Columbia, by W. D. Boyce. On June 21, 1910, 34 national representatives of boys' work agencies met to establish the Boy Scouts of America.
MATERIALS: Yuca Pack - Canvas, Brass, Leather, Canteen Aluminum and plastic cover, Scout books are both soft cover and all pages including illustrations appear complete.
CONDITION: Yuca Pack is missing leather buckles on the front, and drawstrings, original brass fittings and leather I.D. patch still in-tact, the rest of the collection works, appears to be in-tact with age appropriate wear from use.
