Glass Strawberry Necklace featuring one of my realistic handmade medium-sized strawberry lampwork.
Glass Strawberry Necklace featuring one of my realistic handmade medium-sized strawberry lampwork glass beads on a copper wire stem, suspended from a Sterling Silver v-shaped slider and strung with an adjustable length Sterling Silver figure-eight chain. The strawberry bead on the necklace will be about 1 inch tall (about 22mm) high. The slider is about 1/2 inch (13mm) order high and wide. The sterling silver chain is 20 inches (51cm) long with a lobster clasp. You can wear it at any length you please by clipping the Lobster into the chain link of your choice. The free end is finished with a small light green glass leaf. Your jewelry will be carefully packed in natural white cotton inside a free paper gift box with a gold bow.
Did you pick strawberries when you were a kid? I picked 'em by the quart. Even in the middle of winter, strawberries bring me back to hot summer childhood days.

The Nature of Mother Nature
Almost nothing in nature is completely round, smooth or even, so I avoid making my glass fruit and leaves too perfectly. I put on little splotches and speckles, make them a tidbit lopsided, and add other small imperfection so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more real.
Process and Materials:
I make your glass strawberry look just like a real one in a time-consuming lampwork process. First I build the overall strawberry shape by melting Italian glass rods onto a twist in a piece of wire which will become the stem. Next I place every single seed, one at a time, into its own dimple on the outside of the bead. Then I add the textured glass leaves of the calyx, one at a time. Those little leaves are each carefully melted down onto the surface of the strawberry so they will be strong. Then the strawberry bead goes into the annealing oven for slow cooling.
Photography:
The photos above are representative of the glass fruit necklaces I make in this style. The necklace you receive will be similar to, but not exactly the same as, the one shown above. There will be some minor variations in the shape, size and color patterns of each berry.
