Antique pearl lustreware portrait dish featuring a beautiful maiden holding a shell to one ear with gilt floral sprigs on a pearl lustreware finish. The scalloped edged bowl with one handle is finely decorated with the cameo of the blonde maiden in a graceful gown holding a conch shell to her ear. The portrait is encircled by a gilt grapevine while the border is enhanced with a finely detailed floral motif and embossed edge. This beautiful pale green lusterware dish will be a treasured addition to any porcelain collection.

The back of the 7.25" wide porcelain bowl is marked in green, "Prov. Saxe. E.S. Germany" within a cartouche. This German manufacturer used this mark beginning in 1902. Made by the Erdmann Schlegelmilch Porcelain Factory in Suhl, Germany in the first quarter of the 20th Century. It is In excellent vintage condition with a minor ding to the back of the footing not visible from the front order. Ware to the gilding consistent with age.
