Late 19thC Paper Egg
This is not you usual paper egg in that it does not have images of bunnies or chicks, or pastoral Easter scenes.
It is covered, instead, in order a marbled swirl paper, of the kind that was used In bookbinding.
Measuring 5 inches long by 3 1/4 inches wide by 3 1/4 inches deep. Condition is very good with minor signs of wear attendant with age and use. There is one very small spot or indent (see photo) on the exterior but that does not compromise its integrity. On the interior, the paper lace is intact as is the saw-toothed paper edging on the outside.
This is a simply stunning piece, the colors jumping out at you: deep red with swirls of variegated hues of blue.
This is an egg that you can display long after Easter, it stands alone as a fabulous accent.
