The Charlie B Gallery of Carson City Nevada is offering this heavily carved pitcher.
The Charlie B Gallery of Carson City, Nevada is offering this heavily carved pitcher created by well listed artist Richard F. Fairbanks for sale. Much has been written about this important studio potter and educator. He was a student of Paul Bonifas at the University of Washington and Antonio Prieto at Mills College. Richard exhibited at the Syracuse order Ceramic Nationals in 1954 and 1956.
This pitcher is signed with RF stamp as shown. There are original firing lines near the top of the handle and a couple firing separations within the foot of the form. I have tested the pitcher as this rare item holds water even with these condition notes. I do not detect any post-studio damage, such as chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. The pitcher has a nice ring when tapped. All fragile merchandise is shipped using the "double box" process.
