Nice condition later copy of "The Old Man and the Sea" by ERNEST HEMINGWAY with its original dust jacket. 1958 (presumed, based on the code "P-7.58[H]" on the copyright page...the year 1959 is written on the front end paper); Charles Scribner's Sons; New York. The dust jacket identifies the book as the order winner of the 1953 Pulitzer Prize, and the winner of the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature. The dust jacket is un-clipped with the original $3.00 price intact on the front flap.
Condition:
Clean covers and spine; sharp corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Nice interior - the pages are mostly clean and white with only a small, light smudge at the outer margin of page 44, and some light staining (foxing?) at the upper-outer corner of pages 86 & 87. There is a name/date (1959) written in pen on the front end paper. The front and rear end papers have a tanned strip along the edge of the page by the spine from the dust jacket flaps. Overall the book is in Very Good condition. The dust jacket is un-clipped with the original $3.00 price intact on the front flap; light soiling to the back cover; small tears along the perimeter; piece missing at the top of the spine...overall the jacket is in Good condition.
