Mind blowing 1960s Jean Allen, Southport, designer maxi dress in contrasting patterns. The bodice and long sleeves are a kind of modern paisley in red, pink, green, purple, and white. The long skirt is covered with red flowers in squared on a ivory background. Top and bottom are brought together by a very long 2” satin ribbon that ties in the back.
The dress has a fold over turtle neck with hook and eyes. There's a 23” back metal zipper. The ribbon tie is order removable. The long sleeves snap at the cuffs. There are 2 side pockets in the skirt.
Definitely influenced by the long hippie dresses of the time, just taken up a notch or two. Beautifully made. The bodice is lined, but I'm not sure of the fabric. The skirt looks like double knit.
This is small. 16 1/2” across the front at the underarms, 12” across the shoulders, 18” sleeves underarm to end, and 40” long skirt from the waist.
