This listing is for a pretty vintage Murano art glass vase. This small blown and stretched glass vase was most likely made in the 1970's or 1980's in Venice, Italy on the island of Murano and is similar in style to glass produced by the well know glass houses of Flavio Poli and Archimede Seguso. The vase was created with a sommerso effect and has a core of bright green glass submerged in yellow glass. Finally, the entire piece is cased in clear glass creating depth. The top of the vase has been stretched into a fishtail shape. The vase measures approximately 4-3/8 inches wide at its widest point and is 3 inches deep and stands 7-1/4 inches tall. It weighs 2 pounds and 14 ounces. The vase is not marked but the pontil mark on the base where the glass was attached to the blowing apparatus has been polished smooth and to a shine, indicating superior workmanship. The vase is in excellent used vintage condition with respect to age and use. It has no cracks, chips, or repairs. There are a few very light surface scratches on the body and some minor shelf wear on the bottom. I noticed a couple of tiny air bubbles in the glass which is typical with hand blown and finished glass. Overall, this vase is a beautiful little piece of vintage Murano art glass and would make a nice addition to your collection.
