These magnificent, Norse turtle brooches, as they were often worn during the Viking Age, have an openwork pattern and do not look quite as "ostentatious" as other Viking brooches. They are after a find from Uppsala/Sweden and are worked in the Jelling style and were dated 900 - 975 AD.

These oval clasps are very massive and approx. 7.8 x 5.3 x 2.2 cm / 3.07 x 2.09 x 0.86" in size and have a stable needle mechanism.
