The Chatsworth Lions, a pair.
The famous marble Lions were originally made by the sculptor Antonio Canova for the Rezzonico monument in St. Peters, Rome.
They were then commissioned by the 6th Duke of Devonshire in 1823, for Chatsworth House, England.
The sleeping Lion was made by Rinaldo Rinaldi.
The Crouching Lion was made by order Francesco Benaglia, each weighing 3.5 tonnes each.
This item is entirely handmade in England, so there are no customs charges within the EU.
