616 Red-brown and slate blue order vase

Substantial and eye-catching expression of the incalmo technique, in which a handblown cup of one color of glass is mated with first one, and then another cup of a different color. In this case, successive cups of steel blue, clear, and "aurora" (red-brown) glass are layered horizontally--and order then the whole assembly is placed on another pipe at right angles to the original horizontal plane--and then TWISTED subtly--and then cased in another layer of clear. The result is nothing short of stunning, with zones of both the original colors and the colors that arise from superimposition.
