Louis Lourioux French Art Deco glazed stoneware jug, 1920s art pottery pitcher, gourd vase
A Louis Lourioux French art pottery gourd jug, made in the 1920s.
It has a mottled green powdered glaze around the top and a caramel coloured body with irregular ribbed shape and a raised frieze of geometric flowers. It is signed with Lourioux's double L signature on the base.
It is 7.5 inches high and has a diameter of 5.5 inches.
Louis Lourioux (1874-1930) was a talented French ceramist who specialised in stoneware pottery in the Art Deco years. He produced a series of gourd-inspired jugs and pitchers, all different and very collectable today.
The jug is in good, unrestored condition. Note, a small, old chip order on the inside of the lip, so not normally seen. This is reflected in the price.
I pack with care. See my feedback :)

Please bear in that most items in my shop are at least 30 years old. While I'm careful to describe anything significant, gentle signs of use and age are normal - and part of the charm of vintage.
