From my personal collection comes this exquisite treasure -- an elaborate example of fine antique tape lace, completed and still attached to the original fabric pattern / pricking. The design features graceful ribbon bows. The lace is cotton, in a light ecru color. Either a small table linen or perhaps even a purely decorative (bridal) handkerchief. The lace is 15" square, the background pattern fabric panel is slightly larger. The pink cotton/linen fabric onto which the pattern had been stamped is further backed by paper. Clearly used multiple times, the paper backing shows the most wear. order The lace piece is basted onto the pattern foundation, with one corner lifted, as shown. The lace design looks to be finished and undamaged, with some minor color shift, just from storage -- you could unpick the lace for use, or leave as is for display/study. Circa early 1900s. There are some numbers/letters stamped at the bottom of the pattern.
