This is a multi-colored bubble glazed porcelain lidded jar with a water lock rim. It includes custom made porcelain weights to go with this Jar. This is a fermentation crock or lidded jar. Simply put a small batch of pickles, cabbage for sauerkraut, kimchi, cocktail onions or something to ferment following a fermentation recipe. Place weights on top of food, pour cooled pickling liquid to top of weights, then place lid on crock and fill rim with water to create a water lock. Keep squeeze bottle of water to keep water in rim and bacteria out.

This crock can be used to hold anything, tea, spices, coffee or kitchen necessities and does not need water in the rim.

The weights are made of a high fired porcelain and are non-porous so will not harbor bacteria, although they must be washed and dried in between uses. They are dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.

Total crock capacity is about 5 cups without weights.
