Have a pet you love and adore? Want to express how much you care for your furry family member? Or maybe you want to memorialize one that you have lost? If so, a custom pet portrait is just for you. My style art is different than many others you will find. For several years, I have been using the reverse glass painting style in my artwork. This means the image is actually painted directly onto the glass surface and not on an actual canvas. Using photographs of animals, I portray them in my own bright and vibrant pieces. I love to capture the personality of the pet in hopes to display their individual charm. If you look closely at these example pieces, there are no outlines since I incorporate stippling (small dots) into all my finished products. I hope you enjoy looking at my art as much as I enjoy making them.

If you are interested in ordering a portrait of one of your beloved pets, you can order a 8X10 inch painting here or you can look at my other size options elsewhere in my shop. I will admit this is my recommended size for it looks nice on a shelf or wall. They are also wonderful decorating a child's room or a nursery.

About Ordering and the Process:

1.Select some photos of your furry friend and contact me. I will give you some recommendations on selecting the perfect shots. Picking out a good photo order will help me make sure the painting captures the personality of your fur baby.
2.Once I have your photographs, I will select my favorite and start turning your pet into a portrait worthy of him/her.
3.Your finished product will be mailed to you already framed.
4. The entire process takes up to two weeks depending on how many other paintings I have requested prior to the order.

Please Note:
1)Other sizes are available upon request.
2)If you like my style, other types of paintings are for sale at my Etsy Shop: www.etsy.com/shop/WibellsWonders

TERMS OF USE

I retain the copyright to all my paintings. I also will sell prints of my work. If you do not want me to use the painted portrait for merchandising let me know at time of order placement.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

My name is Katharine Wibell and I am an artist currently living in New Orleans who loves to actively pursues my interest in several unusual styles of art—pointillism, stippling, and reverse glass painting. Several years ago, I graduated from both Mercer University's Fine Art and Psychology programs, became interested in stippling and pointillism. The mind's tendency to organize individual points into an identifiable image intrigues me. Though my paintings are constantly evolving, one core aspect remains the same— my fascination with the dot. For this reason all my artwork contains a layer of stippling (dots creating an image).

More recently, I began to work in the method of reverse glass painting. The challenge of painting images in a way that is totally opposite from what one typically thinks thrills me. Through this form of art, I have begun to branch into large scale pieces. Though my work varies subject matter and mediums dependent upon which of my wide range of interests I want to explore. For example, animals in the wild are often featured since I had been a Georgia state licensed wildlife rehabilitator for a time.

When starting to sell on Etsy, I have chosen to keep to my more moderate sized paintings. I have specifically chosen the majority of my work to be a size that could be hung on a wall or propped up on a shelf for everyone to enjoy though I am never opposed to painting larger upon request. Another passion of mine is pet portraiture. One of my favorite things to do is to turn your furry family member into a work of art. If you are interested in seeing my full breath of work you can check out my website: katharinewibell.wix.com/kwibellart . There you can see other styles like my New Orleans Windows that I sell on a more local level.

My work has been shown at Zelé, Palmer Park Art Market and RAW Artists in New Orleans, Antiques and Art on First in Slidell, Louisiana, Hardman Hall Gallery in Macon, Georgia, the Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton, Morgan County Cultural Center, Perk Avenue, and Town 220 Restaurant and Gallery in Madison, Georgia. With two solo shows under my belt, I am thrilled at becoming recognized for my chosen style.
