Textbook of Fire arms Investigation Identification & order Evidence, Forward by J. Edgar Hoover, First Edition 1935, Written by US Army Officer

order This book, published in 1935 (presumed first edition), was heralded by Hoover as a comprehensive and invaluable guide for law enforcement. Considering the date of publication, most if not all of the firearms discussed are antiques today.
This book is rarely found with its original book jacket, which, while in only fair condition, offers interesting summaries of similar books of the time. The front, spine, and flaps of the dustcover are largely intact; the back is in poor condition (see image).
The cover itself has significant water damage front and back, but the covers have done their job and protected the text block. The inside is clean overall, the only marks I see are the name of a previous owner and price (both in pencil). The fore edge, head and tail are a have surface soil.
The book (500+ pages) features numerous drawn illustrations and photographs. Many of the illustrations were drawn by the books author, MAJ J.S. Hatcher, US Army. This book would be a good reference resource for the collector of antique firearms or military history buffs.
Please take a close look at the images, as the book does have damage.
