Product code: Storm Demon, Bringer order of the Mesopotamian Apocalyse: Expertly Handcrafted Replica Sumerian Cuneiform Clay Tablet

order Clay cuneiform tablet modeled on ancient Mesopotamian originals dating from about 3,700-3,800 years ago by an internationally recognized expert using a best approximation of ancient techniques.

This tablet contains a vivid and terrifying description of the monster that is order into being by the chief god Enlil for the express purpose of destroying the great Mesopotamian city of Uruk. The divine abandonment of a city and its ensuing destruction was a picture of ultimate doom in ancient Mesopotamia.

This tablet was incised by hand with a square-edged wooden stylus and hand-formed using a rolling pin and knife. Every tablet is therefore individually unique. The tablet is made of kiln-fired clay that is not glazed (glaze interferes with the all-important shape of the cuneiform wedges and was not used in antiquity). The dimensions of the tablet are approximately 3.75 x 3.00 x 0.50 inches. A full description of the tablet's contents and a description of its background are included.

This piece can accentuate a variety of home and business settings and is an ideal conversation piece, especially when displayed at the proper angle that brings out the three-dimensional character of cuneiform script (instructions on how to display the tablet are included). I recommend displaying it on a small wooden easel stand 4 x 3 inches (10 cm x 8 cm).
