Product code: 1950’s Aviation Northrop order F-89 Scorpion FLYING USAF B&W 8” x 10” Photo Otis AFB
Official 8” x 10” Photograph, Circa 1955 The Northrop F-89 Scorpion was an American all-weather, twin-engined interceptor aircraft built during the 1950s, the first jet-powered aircraft designed for that role from the outset to enter service.[1] Though its straight wings limited its performance, it was among the first United States Air Force (USAF) jet fighters equipped with guided missiles and notably the first combat aircraft armed with air-to-air nuclear weapons (the unguided Genie rocket). Photo comes bagged and boarded and ships securely with bubble wrap and in a box. See our store for other official order USMC, USAF and NAVY photos from the 1940s-1950's. 016.
