Walnut wood with twisted copper inlay on Copper Core
Handcrafted in Montana
The wood has been cut so the side grain is around the entire ring. This eliminates the issue with end grain absorbing moisture and weakening the structure of the ring. The wood used has been stabilized in an acrylic solution under vacuum to help seal and protect the ring. The wood is then overlaid on the copper core band with the final hand turning and inlay on the lathe by myself. The inlay is made from two strands of 20 gauge copper twisted together then inlayed in the walnut. Once I am happy with the overall appearance I complete the filing and sanding process prior to applying a water-proof acrylic protective finish. With the copper core completly encased in the acrylic, any contact between the copper and your skin is prevented, thus eliminating any reaction with your skin. This is followed by buffing and polish. No ring is indestructible; however, these rings will look great and last many years if taken care of properly
Copper core wood rings are very unique, light and comfortable to wear; however they are about 1-2 mm wider than other rings.
Band widths available are 6mm and 8mm
These make great gifts, wedding or engagement bands, special occasion or every day wear.

Care Instructions:
Durability: The longevity of my rings is largely due to the amount of use. With gentle, sustained use, each ring can be order a long-lasting transformation of the tree's natural beauty. I would be doing you a disservice if I claimed my wooden rings were as durable as metal rings. I can say that my work is much more durable than most people think. Each ring is created in such a way that allows the grain to reveal the richness of the specific wood species and creating a very durable structure. When the finish is maintained my rings can last for many years. Wearing an organic, wooden ring means more than just owning a ring. The greatest determining factor to the ring's lifespan is the care it receives on a regular basis. My rings are designed to be lived in and incorporated into the pacing of our lives, so most of your daily activities are fine. The grain structure makes the rings structurally sound, so you do not need to worry about splintering or breaking with these rings. The wood is protected with a transparent, water-proof finish. Although I recommend care be taken around water, the ring should withstand your regular daily showering and hand washing, if the finish is maintained.
Care Instructions: Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, over-frequent washing/drying, extended submersion in water, rough treatment (e.g. wearing the ring while lifting or operating machinery). These are all things that can compromise the finish, and thereby, the integrity of the ring itself. The finish is the most important factor in keeping the ring in good condition, and if it is compromised, it can allow water into the wood, which damages the ring from the inside. The rings can withstand the occasional shower or hand wash, if moisture does not remain beneath the ring and finger.
